Publication Fee for Open Access
From 2024 the journal has decided to introduce a fee for open-access publication, here's how it could be structured:
To support the wide dissemination of research and cover the costs associated with the publication process, EJCSC has introduced an Open Access fee of GBP 2,000. This fee is payable only upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication and is required to cover operational expenses, including peer review management, journal production, online hosting and archiving, and extensive global dissemination of published research.
EJCSC is committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent authors from publishing their work. The journal offers waivers and discounts in the following cases:
Authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries may apply for a waiver or significant discount, as classified by the World Bank.
Early career researchers or authors who do not have funding for publication fees may apply for a discount.
Cases of exceptional hardship or other special circumstances can also be considered for fee reductions.
Authors seeking a waiver or discount must apply when submitting their manuscript and provide a justification for their request. Each application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, considering the author's circumstances and the availability of journal funds.
Details regarding the payment procedure will be provided to authors along with the acceptance letter. It is important to note that the ability to pay the Open Access Fee does not influence the editorial decision-making process, which remains strictly based on the quality and suitability of the manuscript for EJCSC.
By implementing this fee, EJCSC ensures the sustainability of the open-access publishing model while maintaining rigorous peer review and high-quality publication standards. We believe that this fee will help us continue to provide excellent service to our authors and readers, making impactful research widely accessible to a global audience.
